Nicholas Mester

Nick is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He was called to the Ohio Bar in 2005 and to the Ontario Bar in 2009.

Nick’s practice has been focused exclusively on civil litigation with an emphasis on auto insurance and property claims. Since moving to Ontario, Nick spent most of his time at a downtown boutique insurance defence firm. For a brief period, he spent his time representing Plaintiffs in injury claims. He joined Blacklock Law Firm in March 2023, where his practice focuses on defending injury claims once again.

Nick has litigated cases at the Superior Court of Justice, License Appeals Tribunal, Divisional Court of Ontario and the Court of Appeal of Ontario. He has had several successful verdicts following trial, including the dismissal of two cases in back-to-back jury trials. He successfully

argued a Summary Judgment Motion in a motor vehicle case dealing with a left turning vehicle (See Juneja v. Samra, 2016 ONSC 5502). He also successfully argued an appeal at the Court of Appeal in relation a zero-dollar jury verdict (see Jugmohan v. Royle, 2016 ONCA 827).

In his spare time, Nick enjoys spending time with his family and following sports.
